Summer Session: June 13- July 1 2016
The summer session also serves as the final leg of the admissions process for 5th and 6th grades, as all prospective students attend along with continuing Academy Prep students. At the end of summer session, the new 5th and 6th grade class rosters are finalized.
7:25-7:40 a.m.: Breakfast
Each day students receive a healthy breakfast at Academy Prep.
7:45-7:55 a.m.: Convocation
During Convocation, the entire student body unites in the Commons Room. Students enter the room, one by one, shake hands with the Head of School and line up in height order by grade. Convocation is a time for students to gain focus for the day, as they join the faculty in words of wisdom from our Head of School, the Pledge of Allegiance, and other important pieces of business.
Convocation concludes with the school’s pledge:
Standing in this room are the greatest, most committed, most responsible people this world has ever known. If it is to be, it is up to me. Yes I can. Yes I will. Yes we can. Yes we will. I am, we are, the greatest, the greatest, the GREATEST!
Students then start their academic regimen, with almost all classes taught separately by gender.
