I have had the privilege and honor to work within the area of education for over 25 years, and I’m proud of the time I spent in the classroom as a teacher who strived to apply the strategies for differentiated learning and the integration of technology.  I believe it is important to involve students in their own learning and model how all students can strive to be critical thinkers for high school and college preparation.

When students come to Academy Prep in 5th and 6th grades, there is much emphasis placed on reading comprehension, grammar, and math.  This packed academic schedule is enhanced with extracurricular activities including Chess (critical thinking), Art (creativity), Karate (self-discipline), Physical Education, Character Development, and Financial Planning/Awareness.  There is a continued emphasis in these areas in 7th and 8th grades, but Spanish is added and students begin to focus on planning for high school.

I have had the pleasure to lead Academy Prep Center of St. Petersburg through our summer session and the first quarter, and we have gathered a strong team to lead our students to achieve their goals.  Our donors and community partners have been vital to the overall success of Academy Prep and it is our desire to continue this relationship to support our students in their objective to be leaders within our community.

With much appreciation,
