Development Coordinator                                                                  

Permanent Full-Time (40 hours/week) Non-exempt

Supervisory Responsibilities: Development Intern(s)

Responsible Supervisor: Development Manager


Assists with the full operation of the APT Center’s development activities with a focus on ensuring the success of all administrative, web technology, and marketing initiatives.


Database Utilization:

  •          Leads and coordinates database utilization in an organized and timely manner
  •          Researches new and creative approaches to using E-Tapestry
  •          Collects, tracks, and obtains donor reports for research and analysis
  •          Keeps tracking and reporting formats as required by the Development Director and Manager including: all donors, donors
    funding categories, grants, potential donors, visitors, restricted donations and requirements
  •          Keeps the development schedule and coordinates with the administration calendar

Donor Relations, Stewardship & Support:

  •          Manages donor thank you letters and cultivation approaches
  •          Coordinates the student tuition sponsorship effort with new sponsor packets, renewal mailings, updates, gathering and tracking
  •          Assists with the management of development interns
  •          Works with the Development Manager on logistics for any event or on-campus visit
  •          General office support
  •          Assists the Development Director as needed
  •          Attends weekly staff meetings
  •          Helps coordinate fundraising campaigns

Marketing & Website:

  •          Under the direction of the Development Manager, implements 55 Seconds, social media and marketing/fundraising campaigns
  •          Responsible for a yearly social media plan
  •          Takes marketing photos; keeps marketing materials organized and ready for donor presentation
  •          Assists with creating and implementing marketing and recognition products
  •          Attends Development Committee meetings as needed
  •          Manages website changes and upgrades
  •          Manages and supports online campaigns as needed

Skills Required:

  •          General office management skills
  •          Highly effective in marketing, communication, and technology
  •          Advanced computer skills (proficiency in html, WordPress, MS Word, Excel, Publisher, Photoshop necessary; skills with Adobe
    Suite, basic video editing preferred)
  •          Ability to meet deadlines, work well with others and multi-task; team player with a positive attitude
  •          Able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events that change priorities on a daily basis
  •          Professional maturity and diplomacy with visitors, partners, vendors, etc., in person, phone and written communication
  •          Desire to grow within the Development profession

Education & Experience Required:

  •          Bachelor degree with 1-3 years experience closely related to the duties and responsibilities specified
  •          Experience in technology and business management
