Math Teacher- Academy Prep is seeking one math teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. Math teachers will be responsible for teaching 6th and 7th grade classes, including pre-algebra, for the 2020-2021 school year. The 2021-2022 school year will include 8th grade (algebra) courses. The ideal candidate has experience teaching a wide range of mathematics courses, connects well with students, and enthusiastically believes that all children are capable of high level math work. The position begins June 1, 2020, and is full-time, non-exempt, and include benefits.
Music Teacher- Academy Prep is seeking one full-time music instructor. The music instructor will be responsible for all music classes for 5th-7th grade, daily music enrichment activities, and two on-campus performances. The ideal candidate has experience with both band and choir, can manage sound equipment, and enthusiastically believes that all children are capable of expressing musical talents. This position is available immediately, is full-time, non-exempt, and includes benefits.
AmeriCorps Teachers- Academy Prep is seeking 2-3 full-time AmeriCorps teachers for the 2020-2021 school year. AmeriCorps teachers are paid a small stipend, complete heath care benefits, and provided with fully furnished housing. They additionally receive a grant from the US government after completing a year of service. AmeriCorps teachers serve as Academic Support Specialists for students, providing small group instruction in math and English during the academic day. They also develop their own courses held during the enrichment period. The ideal candidate is seeking to make a difference and believes that all children deserve a fantastic education. Candidates must posses a college degree and be US citizens. The positions begin June 1, 2020, are full-time, non-exempt, and include benefits.
Guidance Counselor- Academy Prep is seeking one full-time guidance counselor. The guidance counselor will be responsible for developing a strong guidance and counseling program to help students overcome challenges that might impede learning and to assist them in meeting and achieving their educational and personal-social needs and goals. The position is available immediately, is full-time, non-exempt, and includes benefits.
